It seems to be a mashup of one of ashteferes themes along with the orbital stuff of hermik and the orbital litestep theme of aquatron. If it is any one of those things (and it is) then you should get permission before release.
When did people copyright having bars at the side and bottom? That's like saying that nobody can have docks or a bar at the bottom because apple/IBM/whoeveritwas did it first.
Yes, I took the clock idea from the orbital theme - indeed, this theme started out as a remake for myself of orbital because orbital didn't work and I disliked certain bits of it - but all coding and graphics were done by myself. I did not directly copy anything from the henrik's work, The "Tree" (Which doesn't really work anyway, but whatever) was my own idea - or at least, it was as far as I know, but somebody else may have done it first. Again, the clock. Is it really that original to have a clock with the AMPM sign next to it? Wait. Oh, yeah, that wasn't what aquatron did, he had the date.
Certainly, however, on the basis of having a similiar layout (Again, originally designed for own use, am I not allowed to use a layout that works for me?) to ash's stuff, I shall seek his permission, and I shall also seek the permission of Aquatron for using a similiar idea for clock. Or maybe not. But I might do. Depends if I ever release it. However, I wouldn't see the point in seeking henrik's permission, considering it, while starting out as a mimic of orbital/henrik (In which case, yes, I should seek permission) evolved into something which is entirely different. Or at least very different, excepting the clock. Which was Aquatron's idea, not henrik's if I remember correctly, but I'm tired and can't be bothered seeking out the litestep.net page right now.
Now it's time for September 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not. Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough
And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs!
`arcipello's artwork is instantly recognisable. His vibrant colours and sci-fi scenes are breathtaking at times, pulling you into a world where man and machine live in colourful harmony.
An inspiration to many, Daniel's dedication to his craft is evident throughout his gallery, with many of his beautiful prints hanging on walls across the globe. In recognition as being one of the most successful artists in our deviantART community, we're delighted to award this month's Deviousness Award to `arcipelloRead More
